More than 300 outgoing referrals sent during summer contest

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 10, 2012) – If you invite Allen Tate agents to your pool party, you’d better make plenty of room, because they are sure to show up in numbers.

That’s what happened during SummerFest 2012, an Outgoing Referral (OGR) contest sponsored by Allen Tate Relocation. Agents and employees were asked to submit an OGR – defined as a referral of anyone who plans to buy or sell real estate outside of the Allen Tate market area within the next 24 months.

A total of 323 OGRs were sent during the contest, exceeding the goal of 300, said Tara Beth Bennett of Allen Tate Relocation. Referrals are sent to independent real estate firms in other cities through the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® network.

For each OGR submitted, agents and employees were “in the pool” to win $1,200. From June 18 through September 3, weekly winners were drawn from the previous week’s submissions and received a summer-themed prize. Additionally, weekly winners qualified for entry into the Grand Prize drawing – a reverse raffle-style drawing where five finalists competed to share – or take all – of $1,200.

In the end, finalists Harriet McCambridge (Greenville/Midtown), Graham Dixon (Glenwood), James Patella (Winston-Salem), Pam Rains (Union County) and William Barnes (Gastonia) decided to play nice and agreed to equally share the Grand Prize jackpot.

“It was great that the finalists chose to split the winnings. But the real winners are the clients who have been referred by Allen Tate to quality real estate companies and agents through the Leading RE network,” said Bennett.
