Allen Tate Company was recently honored with the Gordon Smith Jr. Award by the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education in Raleigh, N.C. The award, created in 1992 to recognize outstanding support and leadership to secure the financial security of the Poe Center, was presented at the organization’s annual meeting held September 25, 2014.
The Poe Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering North Carolina children, youth and their families to make choices that increase positive health behaviors.
Allen Tate is a long-time supporter of the Poe Center through its annual FUNday event to benefit public education in local communities throughout the Carolinas. Allen Tate Realtors and staff have also volunteered their services with Poe Center programs and activities.
“We graciously accept this award as a proud supporter of the mission and activities of the Poe Center. Our annual FUNday event to benefit public education was created with this type of organization in mind, and it’s great to make an impact” said Phyllis Brookshire, president, Allen Tate Realtors®.
